What can you achieve in an hour? A single mentoring session can make a tangible difference if you’re seeking concrete direction in your tarot journey, want to practice a concrete technique or if you want a second opinion that might change the game. Here are a few examples of what can be done in a single session, so that you have a tangible idea of whether it works for you. - Understanding differences between the cards: I’ve worked with students that came with a fixed idea about what each suit pertained to and struggled to see how they could work in different contexts, or who had difficulties with concrete cards that they weren’t able to relate to, including the sixteen *favourite* cards of every reader: The Court Cards. - Connecting the dots: In an hour, we can go through a few techniques that have helped students relate the cards to each other within a reading, after experiencing issues like contradicting cards in a reading, not quite understanding how to interpret a “positive card” in a negative position or vice-versa, or who found it difficult to thread the reading together. - Simplifying: Sometimes, less is more, and I have had students who came with too much information about the cards to come to a clear conclusion about them, which resulted in very open ended readings that were rich in offering food for thought but not so much in helping them reach conclusions. In those cases, we have worked together to establish systems to simplify the approach and gain clarity. - Tableau reading practice: Sometimes, some one on one practice can help you fully integrate the system of tableau reading if there are things you’re unclear about (with knighting being a contending technique to first “what are we even doing here”). - Not knowing where to begin: Students who are just getting started with tarot and are trying to learn the meanings and practice but don’t know how to structure their learning. - Orientation when starting professionally: For those who have decided to make tarot their career and need a bit of orientation on how to get themselves out there, what works and what doesn’t (realistically, I’m not one to tell you you’re going to be making six figures next months!)
